From #6 to #1: How InLinks Became a Top AI Recommendation
The result
#1 AI recommendation in 8 weeks
Being an established SEO platform doesn’t automatically mean AI will recommend you.
InLinks discovered that despite its expertise in Entity SEO, it wasn’t consistently appearing among the top recommendations when users asked AI models about Entity SEO tools.
Using Waikay’s content gap analysis, AI Facts tracking, source insights, and prompt monitoring, InLinks identified opportunities to strengthen its visibility. The team implemented targeted content improvements and reinforced its authority in relevant topics.
Within eight weeks, InLinks climbed from sixth to first position for the query “best entity SEO tools,” with its measured appearance rate increasing from 2% to 9%.
Understanding why AI overlooks your brand can be the first step toward becoming one of its top recommendations.
How InLinks & Waikay Helped Increase AI Entity Associations by 650%
The result
+650% in target entity associations
What if AI knows your company but doesn’t associate it with one of your most important services?
That was the challenge facing a major accounting software provider looking to strengthen its positioning around e-invoicing.
With InLinks, the company implemented an entity-focused SEO strategy using internal linking and structured data. Waikay tracked how frequently AI systems connected the brand to e-invoicing in their responses.
The results were striking: the number of tracked associations between the brand and its target entity rose from 2 to 15 at peak, a 650% increase. The brand also recorded 42 e-invoicing entity mentions within a 30-day measurement period, more than double its nearest competitor.
AI visibility isn’t just about being mentioned. It’s about being associated with the topics that drive your business.
How RicketyRoo Improved a Local Builder’s AI Visibility with One Content Update
The result
Up to +10.8% improvement across tracked AI visibility scores
Sometimes, improving AI visibility doesn’t require producing dozens of articles or redesigning an entire website.
SEO agency RicketyRoo used Waikay to investigate why AI models weren’t clearly associating a local home builder in Bend, Oregon, with its primary services.
The solution was surprisingly focused: create one central category page and reorganize existing supporting content to reinforce the brand’s relationship with its target topic.
Within approximately two months, Waikay recorded improved scores across four monitored AI models, with the largest percentage increase reaching 10.8% on Gemini-grounded.
No extensive redesign. No massive content campaign. Just a smarter content structure backed by measurable insights.
Small, strategically targeted website improvements can make a meaningful difference in how AI understands your business.
How EntityMap Improved AI Understanding by 26 Points in 48 Hours
The result
+26 AI visibility score points in 48 hours
Can a single structured file change how AI systems understand your brand?
We decided to find out.
Waikay implemented EntityMap, a machine-readable representation of brand entities, relationships, and supporting information, on its own website.
We then measured changes in AI understanding across five topics using grounded AI retrieval.
One of the most compelling findings was a 26-point increase in the AI visibility score for the topic of AI hallucinations within just 48 hours.
The EntityMap file was also cited more frequently than Waikay’s About page in the monitored Gemini and Sonar responses.
Making your brand information easier for AI systems to retrieve and interpret may improve the accuracy and consistency of AI-generated responses.
+267% AI Citations: What Happened After Installing EntityMap
The result
3.7× more weekly citations on average
Getting cited by AI is valuable. Getting your most commercially relevant pages cited may be even more important.
After implementing EntityMap on Waikay.io, we analyzed 19 weeks of Bing Webmaster Tools data to examine changes in citation patterns across Copilot and partner surfaces.
Average weekly citations increased from 167 to 614 between the selected pre- and post-installation periods, representing a 3.7× increase.
More importantly, the composition of English-language citations changed. Citations to bottom-of-funnel pages, including product and feature pages, rose by 406%, even though total English-language citation volume declined slightly.
The findings suggest that structured entity information may influence not only how frequently AI cites a website, but also which pages it chooses to reference.
The quality and commercial relevance of AI citations can matter just as much as their volume.
How Joeri Vanhamel Improved AI Trust for a Medical Device Company in Just 30 Days
The result
AI Knowledge Score increased from 27/100 to 83/100 in one month (+56 points)
When your business operates in a sensitive industry like healthcare, being recognized by AI isn’t enough. AI systems also need to understand your expertise, trust your information, and accurately represent your brand.
SEO consultant Joeri Vanhamel investigated this challenge for a medical device company operating in the highly regulated Your Money or Your Life (YMYL) sector.
Using Waikay, Joeri identified important weaknesses in how AI understood the company, including insufficient recognition of its expertise, incorrect citations, outdated pricing information, and unreliable source references.
To address these issues, he implemented EntityMap and strengthened the website’s credibility signals, including verifiable author credentials and clearer information about the company’s expertise.
The results were remarkable: between September 9 and October 9, 2026, the company’s Gemini non-grounded AI Knowledge Score increased from 27/100 to 83/100, demonstrating a substantial improvement in how the model represented the brand. While the experiment doesn’t establish that the changes alone caused the increase, it illustrates the value of combining structured information, credibility signals, and ongoing AI monitoring.
In industries where trust and accuracy are critical, helping AI understand who you are, what you know, and why your information is credible can make a significant difference.
