General Questions:

General questions about Waikay and its main features.

Waikay is a cutting-edge platform that empowers brands to monitor, understand, and influence how they are represented across leading AI models, including ChatGPT, Gemini, and Sonar. As artificial intelligence plays an increasingly pivotal role in shaping search results and consumer perceptions, Waikay provides advanced tools to analyze and strategically enhance your brand’s digital presence within these AI ecosystems

Currently, the platform supports the following languages:
English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Italian, Dutch, Turkish, Polish, Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish, and Danish

Waikay currently provides insights for the following large language models (LLMs):

  • Sonar (Perplexity): GR
  • ChatGPT 4o: TD
  • Gemini: GR & TD
  • Claude (Anthropic): TD

TD (Training Data): Refers to the extensive collection of texts and resources—such as books, websites, articles, and code—used to train a language model. This data enables the model to understand grammar, facts, reasoning patterns, and contextual nuances across a wide range of topics.

GR (Grounded Reports): Represents AI-powered search responses generated using specific, verifiable data sources—such as live documents, databases, or real-time search results—rather than relying solely on the model’s pre-trained knowledge.

Creating Projects

The first step within Waikay is to create a project, which serves as a dedicated workspace containing all reports related to a specific brand or website.

To create a new project:

  • Click on ‘Create a New Project.’
  • Enter the brand name, brand URL, and select the appropriate market.
  • Choose two main competitors from the suggested list or manually enter competitor URLs in the designated field.
  • Click on ‘Build Project’ to initiate the analysis.

This process organizes all relevant data and insights under a centralized project, making it easy to manage and track your brand’s presence across AI models.

AI Knowledge Score

This proprietary metric is computed by building:

  1. A knowledge graph of your website's most important pages
  2. A knoweldge graph of the LLM responses about your brand

Waikay then compares these 2 knowledge graphs to assess their alignment (or divergence), which gives the AI Knowledge score on a scale from 0 to 100.

Brand Reports

Each project in Waikay automatically includes a Brand Overview Report, providing key insights into how AI models perceive and understand a specific brand or website. This report presents the following information:

  • AI Knowledge Score: A proprietary Waikay metric (on a scale of 0 to 100) that estimates how well an AI model understands the brand and its two primary competitors. (For more details on how this score is calculated, refer to the question: ‘How is the AI Knowledge Score Computed?’)
  • AI Knowledge Sources: A list of sources—such as websites, documents, and forums—that AI models have referenced to describe the brand and its competitors.
  • AI Knowledge Map: A visual representation of the topics (entities) extracted from AI-generated content about the brand. It also highlights significant and critical topic gaps when compared to the two main competitors. (For further information, consult the dedicated article on AI Knowledge Maps.)

Watch a tutorial video on how to explore the brand overview report.

To create the brand overview report we use a simplified prompt in AI models which is the following:

"What do you know about [website URL]"

As large language models continuously update their knowledge about brands, it is important to refresh the Brand Overview Report to reflect the most current AI-generated information.

By default, this report is updated monthly; however, you can adjust the update frequency by following these steps:

  • Access your Waikay project
  • Click the drop-down menu labeled ‘Monthly Update’ in the Brand Overview Report section
  • Select your preferred update frequency: ‘Update Now,’ ‘Daily Update,’ ‘Weekly Update,’ or ‘No Update.’

This flexibility ensures that your Brand Overview Report remains aligned with the latest insights and changes in AI model outputs.

Topic Reports

Topic Reports provide a comprehensive analysis of how AI models understand a specific brand and its two primary competitors within the context of a selected topic. Each report includes the following key insights:

  • AI Knowledge Score: Waikay’s proprietary metric (on a scale of 0 to 100) that evaluates how well AI models recognize and understand a brand and its competitors in relation to the chosen topic.
  • AI Knowledge Sources: A curated list of sources that AI models reference to determine how the brand and its competitors are associated with the topic.
  • AI Knowledge Map: A visual representation of the key topics (entities) extracted from AI-generated responses about the brand. This map also highlights significant and critical knowledge gaps compared to the brand’s two main competitors.
  • LLM Action Plan: A strategic report that identifies content gaps between the brand and its competitors. It provides actionable recommendations for new content creation, content optimization, and structural improvements.

To generate a topic report in Waikay, follow these steps:

  • Access Your Project
  • Click on the ‘Create Report’ button
  • Enter a relevant topic or keyword for your website, or choose from the list of suggested topics provided by Waikay
  • Click ‘Create’ to launch the analysis

Watch a tutorial video on how to create and analyze a topic report.

To create the topic report we use a simplified prompt in AI models which is the following:

"What do you know about [website URL] in relation with [Topic]"

As AI models continuously evolve their understanding of how a brand relates to a specific topic, it’s important to keep your Topic Reports up to date to reflect the most current insights.

By default, Topic Reports are updated monthly. However, you can adjust the update frequency by following these steps:

  • Access Your Waikay Project
  • Click the drop-down menu next to the Topic Report where ‘Monthly Updated’ is displayed
  • Choose from ‘Update Now’, ‘Daily Update’, ‘Weekly Update’, or ‘No Update’ based on your monitoring needs.

LLM Action Plans are detailed strategic reports that provide actionable recommendations to improve a brand’s visibility and understanding within AI models in relation to a specific topic.

An LLM Action Plan report is generated based on the analysis of how AI systems perceive your brand's content coverage for a given topic in comparison to 2 competitors.

The main benefits of Waikay's Action Plan reports are:

  • Filling topic gaps
  • Reinforcing topical authority
  • Increasing the chances of the brand being mentioned in AI-generated responses

Note: LLM Action Plans are not available in Brand Overview Reports as the latter focus solely on a broad knowledge about a brand.

Watch a tutorial video on how to use the LLM Action Plan.

The LLM action plan inside of a topic report can be shared via an unbranded URL as follows:

  • Access a Waikay project
  • Click on a topic report and then on 'Action Plan'
  • Click on 'Shareable URL' to get the action plan's URL

Note: The shareable URL will be an unbranded one (check an example).

Facts

Facts are pieces of information that Waikay extracts by analyzing a brand’s representation across AI models. These facts reflect how AI systems perceive and describe the brand, including its products, services, and key attributes.

To review and manage your brand’s Facts in Waikay, follow these steps:

  • Access Your Project
  • Click on ‘Facts’ from the left-hand menu to view facts related to the Brand Overview and Topic Reports
  • Click on the fact count associated with any report to display the detailed facts. Review how your brand is represented across each AI model, then choose one of the following actions: Click ‘Check’ if the information is accurate or click ‘Flag’ if the information is incorrect.

How to Address Incorrect Facts:

If a fact is inaccurate, it can be corrected through the following methods:

  • Clarify Your Own Content: Ensure that your website and official sources clearly communicate accurate information.
  • Reach Out to the Source: Contact the original source where the misinformation originated to request corrections.
  • Use the llms.txt File (not supported yet): This emerging standard will help guide AI models in understanding verified brand information. Learn more on https://llmstxt.org/

Watch a tutorial video on how to use 'Facts'.

Yes, facts can be exported as a CSV file. Here's how you can export facts:

  • Access your project
  • Click on 'Facts' on the left menu
  • Click on the 'Export to CSV' button

Mentions

Mentions refer to the web pages that AI models have analyzed to understand and define your brand and its competitors. This section typically provides the following details:

  • Domain: The website domain where the mention was found
  • Page URL: The specific web page containing the mention
  • AI Models: A list of AI models that analyzed the mentioned page
  • Number of Occurrences: How many times AI models referred to or relied on the mentioned page
  • Link Status: The accessibility status of the mentioned page (Status 200: Accessible URL, Status 301: Redirected URL, Status 404: Inaccessible URL)

To view your project’s Mentions, log in to Waikay and navigate to the desired project. Then, click on ‘Mentions’ from the left-hand menu.

You can leverage this information in the following ways:

  • Identify third-party websites that mention your competitors and explore opportunities to have your brand cited as well.
  • Review mentioned pages on your own site with a 404 status and implement appropriate redirects to relevant, accessible pages.

Brand Visibility

Brand visibility is a feature that monitors how frequently and in what context your brand is mentioned across leading AI models. It helps you understand your brand’s presence in AI-generated answers related to key industry prompts.

See a video on how it works.

You start by selecting prompts that relate to your brand, then choose the AI models you want to monitor. Waikay scans these models on a regular schedule (daily or every 2 days) and reports how often your brand is mentioned for those prompts.

Waikay offers prompt suggestions tailored to your brand’s website and industry. These are high-relevance prompts that real users are likely to ask AI models. You can use them to quickly set up meaningful tracking without having to write prompts from scratch.

Currently, Waikay tracks brand mentions across four major language models: ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Sonar.

The dashboard displays your average visibility score across each AI model, trends over time, your ranking compared to competitors, and a topic heatmap showing the most frequent topics associated to your brand and competitors. It also reveals the exact sources cited by AI models when referencing your brand and competitors for a given prompt.

Brand visibility is shown as a percentage, based on how often your brand appears in AI responses out of 100 brand mentions. For example, a score of 20% means your brand was mentioned in 20 times out of 100 brand mentions in the AI generated response for the selected prompt.
