Where we’re honest about losingProfound’s autonomous Agents framework is far more advanced than anything Waikay offers for teams that want to automate content workflows. Otterly’s agent stack (MCP server, Claude Skill and workflow marketplace) is more built out than ours; our MCP server is read only and covers five tools against Otterly’s roughly twenty, including write access. Writesonic is the only tool that closes the loop from gap detection to content production in one platform. Peec’s multi-language coverage is broader than anyone’s. Every other tool in this table tracks sentiment and prompt volume; Waikay deliberately does not, on the view that sentiment scores are unreliable proxies and prompt volume is a distraction from accuracy. If you need either metric specifically, look elsewhere. Waikay itself does not generate content, though sister product InLinks does, so a Waikay plus InLinks stack covers the ground Writesonic covers alone.
Where nobody else shows up at allNo competitor in this table verifies whether what AI says about your brand is factually true, detects hallucinated claims or fabricated links, or maps how AI models have encoded your brand as an entity. That entire category of problem is currently answered by one tool.

Section 04
Each tool in brief
🏢
Profound
The enterprise standard. It has two layers: visibility analytics (mentions, sentiment, citations, prompt volumes, crawler analytics) plus Agents, autonomous workers that generate and publish content at scale. Backed by Lightspeed, Sequoia and Kleiner Perkins at a $1B valuation. The trade-offs are predictable: demo-gated enterprise pricing, and a learning curve steep enough that Profound operates its own university and certification programme. If you have a dedicated AEO team and enterprise budget, it is the most complete platform. If you do not, most of what you are paying for will sit unused.📈
Peec AI
The fastest-growing analytics tool in the category, and the simplest to like. Screen-scrapes AI interfaces rather than querying APIs, so its data reflects what users actually see, across 115 languages. Customers include Chanel, Axel Springer and ElevenLabs. Its limitation is deliberate, and the company is open about it: Peec measures, it does not fix. There is no action layer, no accuracy layer, and no entity analysis. Teams that need numbers they can stand behind in a board meeting are well served. Teams that then ask “so what do we do about it” need something else alongside.🦦
Otterly.AI
The bootstrapped pioneer, and the cheapest credible way in. $29/month buys real daily tracking across the major engines, with unlimited seats and a genuinely useful free tool suite. Its Recommendations feature (2026) adds light guidance, and its MCP server and Claude Skill give it a surprisingly modern agent stack for the price. Constraints: tight prompt caps on lower tiers, Gemini as a paid add-on, and no accuracy or entity analysis. For a solo marketer testing whether AI search matters to their business, it is the lowest-risk starting point on this page.✍️
Writesonic
A content platform that changed course. Founded as an AI writing tool, it is now positioned as an AI search growth engine: it pairs GEO tracking across 10+ platforms with its original strength, producing content at industrial scale, plus outreach tooling and Cloudflare-based crawler analytics. The friction points reported consistently across independent reviews: monitoring-only teams end up paying for content credits they do not use, credits expire monthly, and the visibility insights run shallower than the dedicated platforms. Its philosophy is to win AI citations through volume. We think volume without verification is the wrong answer, and we explain why in the Waikay comparison further down. You may disagree; plenty of Writesonic customers do.✅
Waikay Ours
Judge this section hardest, and check everything. Waikay stands for What AI Knows About You. Rather than only counting mentions, it analyses how AI models have encoded your brand as an entity, verifies whether their claims about you are true (Fact Tracker), distinguishes citations in buying-intent prompts from citations in informational prompts, and turns the gaps into prescriptive GEO Action Plans. The founders authored EntityMap, the open standard (launched 1 July 2026) for making site knowledge readable by AI systems, and published the measurement: a 267% increase in AI citations on Bing-served surfaces across a controlled 19-week test. Endorsed as the most actionable tool in the category by Aleyda Solis, Lily Ray and Barry Adams. Honest limitations: we are the smallest company on this page, we do not generate content ourselves (sister product InLinks does, if you need that), we do not ship autonomous agents, and our reporting integrations (no Looker Studio connector, for instance) are thinner than Peec’s or Otterly’s. We do ship an open-source MCP server (waikay-mcp on PyPI), so Claude and other AI assistants can query your Waikay visibility data directly in conversation. What we do, nobody else on this page does at all.⚔️
Section 05
Head-to-head comparisons
Profound vs Peec AIProfound offers far more (Agents, prompt-volume data, PR automation) at far higher cost and complexity. Peec offers clean analytics that a team can use on day one from around €85/month. Neither verifies the factual accuracy of what AI says about a brand. Choose Profound with a dedicated AEO team; choose Peec for fast, defensible visibility metrics without the platform overhead.
Profound vs Otterly.AIThese two sit at opposite ends of the market and rarely compete for the same buyer. Profound is a $1B valuation enterprise platform with autonomous agents; Otterly is a bootstrapped $29/month monitor. Otterly proves that most of the monitoring layer can be delivered at 5% of the price, which is worth remembering when scoping what you actually need.
Profound vs WritesonicBoth bet that winning AI search means producing and optimising content at scale: Profound through autonomous Agents, Writesonic through its content engine and Action Center. Both publish self-serve pricing on their entry tiers, with Profound’s Enterprise tier moving to a custom quote and Writesonic’s higher tiers scaling by platform coverage. Neither addresses accuracy. Both can pump out content all day while AI carries on hallucinating your product features.
Profound vs WaikayProfound requires training (its own university exists for the purpose) and rewards teams that invest in it. Waikay surfaces what AI gets wrong about you, and what to do, from the first session at $24.95/month with no demo gate. Profound wins on automation breadth and enterprise governance. Waikay wins on accuracy (Fact Tracker has no Profound equivalent), entity-level analysis, and time to first insight. More than 10% of the Fortune 500 uses Profound; Waikay serves the other 99% of brands.
Peec AI vs Otterly.AIThis is the most common mid-market shortlist. Peec has the deeper analytics, more polish, 115-language coverage and stronger momentum; Otterly has the lower price, unlimited seats, the free tool suite and a better MCP and API stack than you would expect at the price. Past the experimentation stage with budget, take Peec. Testing the channel or running a small team, take Otterly. Neither will tell you when AI is wrong about you.
Peec AI vs WritesonicPeec deliberately stops at measurement; Writesonic wants to detect the gap and fill it with generated content in the same platform. If you have a content team, Peec’s clean data plus your own production may beat Writesonic’s bundle. If you want one system that measures and produces, Writesonic is the only mid-market tool that does both, with the credit-expiry and depth caveats noted above.
Peec AI vs WaikayBoth are practitioner-priced European tools. Peec answers “how visible are we in AI answers?” with excellent charts. Waikay answers that, and then “is what AI says about us actually true, what does AI believe we are, and what specifically do we fix first?” via Fact Tracker, entity mapping and GEO Action Plans. Peec’s own users have publicly requested action-layer features; that request describes Waikay’s core product. Both ship MCP servers; Peec is ahead on multi-language breadth.
Otterly.AI vs WritesonicNot really rivals. Otterly is what you buy to see the problem cheaply; Writesonic is what you buy when you have decided to attack it with content volume. Plenty of teams start on Otterly and move to a heavier platform within a year.
Otterly.AI vs WaikayThe two bootstrapped tools in this set, and Waikay is the cheaper of the two ($24.95 vs $29). Otterly is monitoring done simply, with generous free tools and unlimited seats. Waikay is monitoring plus the layers Otterly does not attempt: hallucination detection, entity analysis, commercial vs informational citation separation, and structured action plans. Otterly also has no free-forever tier; Waikay does. If you only need to watch, either works and Otterly’s free tools are excellent. If you need to know what AI is getting wrong and fix it, that is Waikay.
Writesonic vs WaikayWritesonic’s answer to poor AI visibility is to manufacture more content; Waikay’s is to find out what AI actually believes about you, correct what is false, and give AI systems a structured, evidence-backed source of truth (EntityMap). The two approaches can coexist, but if AI is hallucinating your product features or citing links that do not exist, more content will not fix a corrupted entity. Diagnose before you publish.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between AI visibility, GEO and AEO tools?
In practice the terms mean nearly the same thing. GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) and AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) both describe improving how brands appear in AI-generated answers from ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and Google’s AI results. All five tools on this page are visibility/GEO tools; they differ in whether they only measure (Peec, Otterly), also generate content (Profound, Writesonic), or also verify accuracy and entity understanding (Waikay).Which AI visibility tool is cheapest?
Waikay has the lowest paid entry in the category at $24.95/month (early adopter rate), plus a free-forever tier. Otterly.AI is next at $29/month with no free tier. Peec starts around €85 to €95/month. Writesonic’s GEO tracking starts at $79/month, though sentiment analysis and the Action Center require the $399/month Growth plan. Profound starts at $99/month for Starter (ChatGPT only), with Growth at $399/month and Enterprise on a custom quote.Which tool is best for agencies?
Otterly and Peec both run agency programmes and multi-client workspaces. Waikay supports multi-brand workspaces, and agencies use its reports as client-facing deliverables; the Fact Tracker findings (what AI gets wrong about a client) tend to be the strongest new-business conversation opener in the category.Do any of these tools detect AI hallucinations about a brand?
One. Waikay’s Fact Tracker verifies AI-generated claims about a brand, flags misinformation and fabricated links, and tracks correction over time. Profound, Peec, Otterly and Writesonic track visibility and sentiment but do not verify factual accuracy. What is EntityMap and which tools support it?
EntityMap is a free open standard (CC BY 4.0, launched 1 July 2026, spec at entitymap.org) that lets a website publish a structured, machine-readable map of its entities, relationships and evidence for AI systems: the entity-level equivalent of sitemap.xml. It was authored by Waikay’s founders; Waikay generates conforming files and offers a managed implementation service. The standard itself is open for any tool or site to implement.Does Waikay generate content?
No. Waikay diagnoses what AI gets wrong about your brand and tells you what to fix; it does not write the fix for you. Its sister product, InLinks, is an entity-based SEO and content optimisation platform built by the same team, and the two are commonly used together: Waikay finds the gap, InLinks helps close it.Karim is a digital marketing consultant and works as a customer success manager at InLinks & Waikay where he provides tech support and runs demo sessions.
